Results from our 12 month Fact Finding Revue
on the Speed Awareness Indicator (SAI), May 2002
After trialling the Speed Saver, all participants now keep their speedo needle and within the Speed Saver range, while 85% feel that it has improved their speedo reading.

92% of participants:
•  have lost demerit points from speeding;
•  take more notice of speed limits;
•  check their speed more often;
•  have found that the Speed Saver has helped them keep within the speed limits;
•  have also found it to be a quick reference for a speed check;
•  notice that other drivers speed past them now;
•  will keep the Speed Saver on their speedo permanently.

77% of participants:
•  feel that their driving ability has improved;
•  have greater concentration on the road with less time having to be spent on speedo checks enabling them to be more alert to traffic situations that may occur.

Speeds at which participants set their Speed Savers vary from 50 kph to 110 kph. Yearly mileage ranges of participants from 2000 to 50,000 kms.

Some of the comments about the Speed Saver made by the participants:
•  “This device is outstanding and financially in the reach of all drivers. It has certainly given me greater confidence while driving.”
•  “An excellent innovative idea to reduce speed, therefore the bad accidents should decrease.”
•  “The stress of demerit points and speeding fines is now a thing of the past. With the Speed Saver permanently installed on the speedo, I’ve got a constant reminder of how fast I am travelling.”
•  “Much easier to check speed. I am certainly aware when I drift over the limit occasionally.”
•  “I found it helps with the adjustment from 60 to 50 kph. I feel a bit safer on the highway.”
•  “I leave my Speed Saver on 50 in the city and 100 for on the freeways.”
•  “It’s a great help and really works for me.”
•  “Have found it very useful and most effective.”
•  “Easier to see than looking at numbers on the speedo all the time.”

In the opinion of 98%of our participants, the Speed Saver would be beneficial to “all drivers”.
